I recently completed two cushion covers which a were a custom order for someone who already had one of my covers (shown below) and wanted two more to match. She did’nt need an exact match, and not necessarily even the same prints but something that would go together harmoniously. I have always made these cushion covers individually, each one a unique piece of surface designed textile art. It was a fun challenge because the one I had made originally was done a couple of years ago and since all my fabrics are hand dyed, matching colours would be more of a challenge.
Hand dyed 100% cotton with arashi shibori patterning and screen printed moth design.
Hand dyed 100% cotton with stitched resist shibori design on linen rayon and screen printed primitive coral motif.
This is the original cushion cover I made two years ago. Hand dyed cotton with a shibori clamped block resist, discharge dyes and screen printed primitive coral design.
